Nehar Shalom Community Synagogue

43 Lochstead Avenue, Jamaica Plain

It is a large gray-blue Victorian House with green trim. There is an arched trellis over the beginning of the short path to the stone front steps. Coming from Center Street it is on your right, four houses before Jamaicaway.

If you are travelling north on Jamaicaway, toward Boston, turn right onto Lochstead, which is 2 streets after Pond street.

If you are traveling south on Jamaicaway, turn left onto Perkins Street, and turn right at the next traffic light, which is South Huntington. South Huntington becomes Center Street. Continue past the Curley School on your right. Lochstead is the next right. On the corners, as you turn, are Roxbury Highland Bank and JP Oil gas station.

If you are traveling east on Route 9, after Brookline Village follow the sign that directs you to the right toward Jamaica Plain. Follow the Riverway, which becomes Jamaicaway, and turn left onto Perkins Street and continue as above.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON LOCHSTEAD AVENUE IF YOU ARE ABLE TO WALK A SHORT DISTANCE

We are trying to avoid causing congestion on the street, and would like to leave street parking and use of the driveway next to the house for those who need immediate accessibility. There is a public, non-metered parking lot on Center Street diagonally across from Lochstead (across from the Curley school). There is free parking along Center Street as well.

Please be sensitive and respectful regarding the needs of our neighbors and be careful not to cause any obstruction of driveways. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Nehar Shalom is also accessible via Bus 39, which stops on Center street, close to the corner of Lochstead Avenue. Nehar Shalom Community Synagoguge
